「IOS Baton」は、自社ブランド「IOS TOKYO」立ち上げの第一弾プロダクトである。薄くて軽いグラスのような使い心地を持ち合わせた、金属のタンブラーを開発しようと考えた。素材には、軽くて高い強度を持ち、抗菌性、耐腐食性にも優れた半永久的な耐久性など、機能性に優れた素材「チタン」を採用。チタンの機能性を生かし得るタンブラーができたならば、時代を超えて存在し、親から子へ、子から孫へとバトンをつなぐように、いくつもの世代にわたって使い継がれていくことも可能であると考えた。
高い技術力をもつ東京都大田区の４つの町工場と連携して実現したプロダクトである。
"IOS Baton" is the first product to be launched under the company's own brand, "IOS TOKYO." The idea was to develop a metal tumbler that is thin and light, yet feels like using a glass. The material used is titanium, a highly functional material that is light, strong, antibacterial, corrosion-resistant, and semi-permanently durable. The company thought that if they could create a tumbler that takes advantage of the functionality of titanium, it would exist beyond the ages, and could be passed down through many generations, like passing a baton from parent to child, and from child to grandchild.
The product was made possible in collaboration with four small factories in Ota Ward, Tokyo, that have high technical capabilities.
